June, July, August = Peak Season Moving Months

The summer months are the peak moving months for the moving industry.   It is our desire to be able to assist you in your move and it is key that if you are planning to move during these months that you plan ahead and arrange your mover in advance.    If you follow these simple steps it will increase the likelihood that your move will occur smoothly and efficiently. 

The moving industry only has so many trucks and drivers and during the summer the demand is so strong that almost all movers and van lines turn down business.   

In order to avoid this situation from happening to you start your moving process at least 6 weeks in advance if you are moving during the summer months.   

1) Plan Ahead

Begin obtaining your moving estimates 6 weeks before you plan on moving.   Then 4 weeks before your move date commit to a moving company.   While things do change it is important that you commit in advance during the summer season. 

2) Impact on Prices

The moving industry has a limited number of trucks during the summer months and the demand is usually so strong that most quality movers will be forced to decline business during this period.    As a result, it is common that pricing during this period may be higher than during the balance of the year.

If you are looking to obtain your best pricing and greatest service options and you have flexibility you may want to adjust your moving schedule to the non peak period of the year.
